On Thursday, The Team India skipper Virat Kohli received Padma Shri award which is India’s fourth fourth-highest civilian award at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Virat Kohli, who was in incredible form in the year 2016 to 2017, with most international runs in the previous year.
He is presently in charge of the No. 1 Indian Test team which holds all the lively sportspersons at present.
He was honored with the prestigious award for his valuable contribution to Indian cricket.
The award was given to him by Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
Kohli has had an extraordinary year in cricket where he’s scored with the bat and to make it to the top, led the side to unrivaled success.
Indian cricket captain headed the Indian team towards the No. 1 position Test ranking after taking over the control from the cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Virat Kohli was among the eight sportspersons who were selected for the reputable Padma Shri besides hockey captain PR Sreejesh, blind cricket team captain Shekhar Naik, gymnast Dipa Karmakar, Paralympian Mariyappan Thangavelu, Rio Olympics heroes wrestler Sakshi Malik, discus thrower Vikas Gowda, and Deepa Malik etc.

The VIP’s presented on the event were vice-president Mohammed Hamid Ansari, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
These eight sports players are chosen among the 89 Padma Awardees announced by the government of India on the eve of the Republic Day 2017.
There were no recipients for the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.
The 28-year-old Indian captain is considered one of the top players in the world presently and has been addressed by many experts as the best bet to break the famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most hundreds and ODI runs.
