CEO of Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali, Acharya Balkrishna has made it to the Hurun India Rich List of 2017.
However, the founder of D-Mart stores,62-year-old Damani becomes the biggest gainer. Balkrishna’s overall wealth is nearly Rs 70,000 crore.
45-year-old Balkrishna from Haridwar bagged the eighth position from 25th last year after his wealth rose by 173%.
Patanjali had a turnover of nearly Rs 10,561 crore in FY17. According to a Hurun statement, it was giving tough competition to worldwide brands.
After Damani, the biggest gainer was 55-year-old managing director of Endurance Technology, Anurang Jain. He and his family’s wealth increased by 286%.
Managing director and chief researcher of Hurun, Anas Rahman said:
“DEMONETISATION, THE IMPLEMENTATION OF GST… HAVE NT IMPACTED WEALTH CREATION IN THE ORGANIZED SECTOR. IN FACT, GOING BY THE TREND IN THE LIST, THESE FACTORS SEEM TO GAIN POSITIVELY THE BIG RICHES AND COMPANIES. IN SPITE OF ROBUST PERFORMANCE OF CORPORATE ENTITIES, A FALL IN NATIONAL GROSS DOMESTIC GROWTH POINTS TO THE IMPACT OF SUCH SCHEMES ON THE UNORGANIZED SECTORS”.
