To help the homeless stranger Johnny Bobbitt Jr. who helped when she has no gas, a New Jersey woman who was on an interstate in Philadelphia has given more than $60,000 for the Samaritan.
27-year-old Kate McClure began the ‘Gofundme.com’ campaign earlier in November after she said had a scarcity of gas on Interstate 95 and Johnny Bobbitt Jr. walked a few blocks and bought $20 for her to purchase gas. McClure works for the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Johnny Bobbitt Jr. told her to lock her doors, sit there.
“JOHNY TOLD ME I’LL BE BACK, TRUST ME.”
After 10 minutes D’Amico said:
“SHE CALLED ME AND SAID THAT THE MAN HAS BROUGHT THE GAS”.
Kate McClure told the man that she didn’t have any money to repay him, but she came back to the road many times to give him money, food, and clothes.
The following day, the Florence couple thanked Johnny again and repaid him.
“WE DROVE AWAY AND WENT ON WITH OUR LIVES.”
She wrote on the fundraising page:
“I WISH THAT I COULD DO SOME MORE FOR THIS SELFLESS MAN WHO WENT OUT OF HIS WAY JUST TO HELP ME THAT DAY.”
“TRULY I BELIEVE THAT ALL JOHNY REQUIRES IS ONE SMALL BREAK. HOPEFULLY, WITH OUR HELP I CAN BE THE ONE TO GIVE IT TO HIM”.
Johnny Bobbitt Jr. is from Raleigh, N.C. area and has been homeless in Philadelphia for 1 and 1/2 year.
After many visits, she started the fundraiser with the hope of using the cash towards housing and other expenditure for the Bobbitt.
As per the report, She has now donated $10,000 to 34-year-old Bobbitt. Approximately 2,000 people had given charity to the campaign by Wednesday evening.
