A man was brutally assaulted by five to six Gau Rakshaks in Ujjain on the suspicion of injuring a cow and cutting cattle with the video going viral on the internet.
The incident took place on Saturday evening near Guman Dev temple in Peeplinaka of Jiwajiganj police station area in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh.
In a viral video of the incident, the accused were seen beating the man using belt and slippers, and kicked, slapped and punched him while claiming that he had cut the cow tail.

Few men can be heard shouting “Gau-kattu banega (You dare harm cows)” while attacking him.
One of the attackers can also be heard saying “Gaaye hamari mata hai (Cow is our mother)”.
A police official said the two of the accused have been arrested and the three persons are detained after the complaint.
However, O P Mishra, Jiwajiganj police station in-charge said the accused had a dispute with the 20-year-old victim named as Apuda Malviya, over money and therefore, they thrashed him.
A case was registered about the incident under IPC sections against him to voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation, he added.
During the beating of the young man, a mob was gathered and his video was also made during the incident.
The Police told a case has been registered against Chetan Sankhala, Vikas alias Bhura, Shubham, Nilesh Sankhala and other associates on the complaint of the injury.
The Police official yesterday arrested two of the accused Vikas and Chetan while the others are absconding and the search for others underway. Further investigation was going on this matter, he said.
The police are looking for other culprits involved in the case.
