Smriti Mandhana celebrates victory after scoring a century against West Indies during the India and West Indies ICC Women’s World Cup match in Taunton.
However, Mithali (46) could not score her 8th consecutive half-century in ODIs.

India has played 2 matches till date in the Women’s World Cup….!!
And in both the Cricket matches, Smriti Mandhana has collected spotlight with match-winning innings of 90 and 106 respectively.
In both the innings, Smriti has alertness and confidence both and shown much more maturity than her age.
Smriti became the 5th Indian player to score more than one ODI 100……!!
After scoring a century against the WI, Mandhana became the fifth player in India to score more than one ODI 100.
The others who have made this record are Mithali Raj, Jaya Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur and Thirush Kamini.
Mandhana always rises to the top…!!
However, from being selected for the Maharashtra’s Under-15 state team at the age of 9 to taking into account abandoning cricket to pursue studies, she has seen it all.
Smriti’s parents motivated her to pursue her passion……!!
All, Thanks to her parents who stood by her side and encouraged her to pursue her and finally, on the tour to England and Australia, she showed the skills that she has and kept hitting the right notes.
