Best Home Remedies To Combat Dehydration Fast

It is the condition where your body loses more water than it takes. However, it is quite common in all age groups but may result in disastrous consequences for kids and older adults. So, it’s time to skip all your concerns ways as we have compiled wonderful natural remedies to combat dehydration fast.

1. Bananas

You Will Need:

a) 1 to 2 bananas

Steps:

a) Take the banana before doing any physical activity
b) Do this two times daily.

Note: You can include banana in your kid’s diet only if he/she is more than six months old.

2. Buttermilk

You Will Need:

a) 1.2 tsp dry ginger
b) 1 cup buttermilk

Steps:

a) Combine ginger in one cup buttermilk.
b) Take this refreshing drink at least 2 to 4 times a day to get rid of dehydration.

Note: Buttermilk is not must face for the infant, but it also promotes overall health too.

3. Barley Water

You Will Need:

a) 1/2 lemon
b) 1 cup barley
c) Honey
d) 3 to 4 cups water

Steps:

a) Add barley to water and boil it in a saucepan.
b) Simmer it for 40 to 50 minutes and cool down the infusion.
c) Strain the barley water and add honey and lemon to it.
d) Drink this infusion 3 to 4 times daily.

Note: Avoid giving this remedy to your kid less than six months old.

4. Coconut Water

You Will Need:

a) 1 glass coconut water

Steps:

a) Drink coconut water 4 to 5 times every day to prevent dehydration.

Note: Give this drink to the infants after he /she completes six months.

5. Soups

Tip:

Consume soups before a rigorous workout to keep yourself well hydrated.

6. Green Tea

You Will Need:

a) 1 cup water
b) 1 tsp green tea
c) Honey (optional)

Steps:

a) Steep green tea leaves in the warm water for ten minutes.
b) Filter the solution and take the tea before it gets cooled.
c) You can also add honey for enriched flavor.
d) Drink it at least three times daily.

Note: Avoid giving the tea to the babies as it may cause dehydration and also enhanced heart rate.

7. Homemade ORS

You Will Need:

a) 6 tsp brown sugar/sugar
b) 4 cups water
c) ½ tsp salt

Steps:

a) Add sugar and salt to the water till they get completely dissolved.
b) Drink this solution until you get rid of the symptoms.
c) Do this few times till you have taken at least three liters of this solution a day.

Note: ORS solution is the 100% safe method to cure dehydration in infants. It is advised to take consultation from a doctor before giving this solution mainly when your child is less than six months old.

8. Essential Oils

You Will Need:

a) 1 glass water
b) 2 drops peppermint/ lemon essential Oil

Steps:

a) Add the oil to water and consume it every day.
b) Do this 1 to 2 times.

Note: Avoid giving the oil till they turn at least 6 to 10 years old.

9. Apple Juice

You Will Need:

a) 1/3 glass water
b) 1 apple

Steps:

a) Blend one apple with a half glass of water.
b) Drink the juice two times every day.

Note: You need to wait for your baby to turn six months old before including fruits juice and solid foods in the diet.

10. Cranberry Juice

You Will Need:

a) 2 cups cranberry juice

Steps:

a) Drink at least two glasses of unsweetened Cranberry Juice twice every day to treat dehydration.

11. Orange Juice

You Will Need:

a)1 to 2 glasses Orange Juice

Steps:

a) Consume unsweetened orange juice once or twice a day before and after the workout.

Note: You can allow your kid is having six years age to drink a half cup of juice in a day.

12. Yogurt

You Will Need:

a) Pinch of salt
b) 1 cup yogurt

Steps:

a) Add salt to yogurt and combine well.
b) Take this blend 1 to 2 times daily.

Note: If your kid is more than six months old, you can introduce yogurt to his diet.

13. Epsom Salt Bath

You Will Need:

a) 1 bucket of water
b) 1 cup Epsom salt

Steps:

a) Add Epsom salt in bath water and soak yourself in it.
b) Relax for fifteen to twenty minutes.
c) Do this three time a week to treat dehydration.

Note: This salt is safe for children but make sure they don’t swallow them. Also, avoid the use of this treatment if your baby is one year old.

14. Lemon Water

You Will Need:

a) 1 glass water
b) ½ lemon
c) Honey (optional)

Steps:

a) Squeeze out half a lemon into one glass water.
b) Add honey to it and consume this water two to three times daily.

Note: Wait till your baby turns six months old.
